Bravo strange dismissal in BBL 2016

West Indian Dwayne Bravo today faced a bit embarrassing dismissal in the ongoing Big Bash League. Bravo was batting against McKay and was cleaned up on a slower ball from the Aussie bowler. The Melbourne Renegades were facing the Sydney Thunders.

Bravo was absolutely bamboozled on this slower ball. This ball was hit in line of the stumps and Bravo swung his bat so hard that it flew out of his hand. The ball crashed into the stumps and he was gone. The bat was picked up by the Renegades fielder and handed over to Bravo.

The Melbourne Renegades captained by Aussie opener Aaron Finch won the toss and decided to bat first. This was a good call from Finch. He himself went in to bat as the opener and he did hit some good number of runs with the bat. Finch gave the Renegades the ideal start. He slammed the ball hard on all parts of the ground. This momentum was picked up by Bravo in the middle part of the innings till the end. Bravo made 24 runs with the bat. He hit some good shots in his innings.

Eventually he was out to a brilliant slow ball from the leading bowler of Sydney Thunder. McKay bowls a lot of slow balls. This is his typical variation. Now he disguises them so well that despite being settle on the pitch we have seen batters facing problems on these balls. Bravo went for a big heave on the leg side. Now it seems that Bravo did read the line and length of the ball. But he did not pick up the pace on this one at all. He thought the ball would come with the average pace with which McKay was bowling in the game but he was wrong.

The ball came a lot slow and as the ball was directed towards the stumps so Bravo had no chance left here. He wanted to hit the ball so hard that his swing took the bat out of his grip. It flew on the off side as the ball entered into the stumps and crashed them apart. Bravo could not believe his luck but there was nothing he could do about it. This was certainly a great ball from the pacer. He knew what Bravo was expecting and he baffled him with a great slow ball. Renegades won the game by 49 runs. The made a good total in the first innings and then defended it with some really good bowling.
