Misbah saves Pakistan with 66 not out against Australia T20 WC 2007

This was one of the pool matches Pakistan played and in it their opponents were the mighty Australians. Australia batted first and scored 164. Pakistan went for the chase but lost some early wickets.

Misbah went in to bat with his team in complete pressure. Misbah stayed at the crease till the end scored 66 runs to secure a win for his team.

He was majorly helped by Shoaib Malik. Misbah hit some convincing shots that all ended up in boundaries. He did manage some singles as well but major part of his wagon wheel was filled with long lines.

Misbah’s first boundary came on the bowling of Bracken. Misbah gave himself some room and slammed the ball towards the cover boundary. Few balls later he again gave himself some room but this time delicately shoed the ball the direction towards the third man.

It was the most elegant shot he played a late cut through the third man area. He played some fine shots against the fast pace of Brett lee as well. Some superb leg glances did the trick for him against Lee.

Symonds was brought into the attack to grab a wicket but Misbah overcome him in no time. He played some quality cut shots on the off side against Symonds.

Later he pulled him few times on the leg side. The reverse shot that he played against him was the second best shot of his entire innings.

In the last two overs the runs and ball were almost equal and Misbah blasted Bracken over his head for a huge six to make things very easy for his side.

It was a monstrous hit that Misbah played with the middle of his bat. Pakistan won the match in the final over and the credit was rightly given to the heroics of Misbah Ul Haq.
